Westhoek & Hauts-de-France
Raised in the Westhoek and at home on both sides of the border.

Hi, I’m Jessy, though most people call me Jay.
A walker, explorer and collector of stories, I share my walks, photos and the stories behind the places I discover — in Belgium, northern France and beyond.
Raised in the Westhoek and at home on both sides of the border.
Dutch, French and English. Three languages, one passion: sharing stories.
For more than ten years, I have explored the region almost every weekend.
Routes combining nature, history and stories.

I’m Jessy, raised in the Westhoek by a French mother and a Flemish father. That mix of two cultures shaped my love for this border region and its history. From an early age, I enjoyed setting out to find new places away from the crowds.
What began as a hobby became part of my daily life. Walking helps me slow down, clear my head and see the world differently. In the Westhoek and Hauts-de-France, I find a unique combination of nature, heritage and stories that continues to fascinate me.
On Walk with Jay, I share my walks and the stories I discover along the way. I want to show how much there is to experience, often closer than you think, and inspire others to set out for themselves.
Walking continually reminds me how remarkable our region is. Around every bend is a story — sometimes famous, sometimes small and almost forgotten. By sharing these stories, I want to show that history is not far away, but lives all around us.
Walking lets me slow down, experience nature and reflect on what happened here before us. It is my way of keeping these places alive while showing others how much there is to discover, whether they love history, nature or simply a good walk.
