Walk with Jay processes only the personal data needed to operate the website, handle messages and route reports, and prevent abuse.
Data processed
The contact form processes your name, email address, request type, subject and message. For a walking-route problem report, your name, a valid email address and the report itself are required. This allows clarification to be requested when necessary. Submissions are stored in WordPress and forwarded by email.
The web server may log technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested URL and time. For quiet anti-spam limits, the plugin temporarily uses a hashed version of the IP address and duplicate-submission detection; the raw IP address is not stored in the report for this purpose.
Purpose and retention
Data is used to handle your message, improve route information, secure the site and resolve technical problems. Submissions are kept no longer than necessary for those purposes and can then be deleted by the administrator.
Map and external services
The walking map loads OpenStreetMap tiles and Leaflet files from unpkg. These providers receive technically necessary request data such as your IP address and browser information. A starting-point search is sent server-side to OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Facebook and Google Maps open only after you deliberately click a link.
Sharing and your rights
Walk with Jay does not sell your data. Technical hosting and email providers may process data to operate the site. You can request access, correction or deletion of your personal data via info@walkwithjay.com.
